Safe Planet is a proudly Australian-owned company. Established in 2019, we are currently working in Victoria as an accredited partner (AP) under the VEU programme. We are also recognized by the New South Wales Government as an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP) and are involved in the New South Wales Energy Saving Scheme (ESS).

Do I need a solar PV system to get the hot water rebate?

No, you can install any system on the Hot Water Approved Products list. This is great for apartments or homes with limited roof space, as you can still install an efficient heat pump system.

Can renters or rental providers apply for a hot water rebate?

The hot water rebate is only for owner-occupiers. However, there are other incentives for rental properties, like the Solar for Rentals rebate. Contact us for more information on available programs for rentals.

I received a hot water rebate but moved house. Can I apply again for my new property?

Yes, you can apply for rebates at your new property, including the hot water rebate, solar PV rebate and loan, and battery loan, as long as the new property hasn’t received these rebates before.

What qualifications do hot water system retailers need?

At Safe Planet, we meet all program requirements, including using licensed plumbers and electricians, providing necessary certificates, and offering a minimum five-year warranty on major components.

How do I claim the rebate for an emergency installation?

In emergencies, you can install a replacement system immediately. Apply for the rebate as soon as possible after installation, checking the emergency installation box on your application. We’ll help you gather the necessary documentation for retroactive approval.

How much can I really save with these programs?

Savings vary, but on average Replacing a gas hot water system with a heat pump can save around $250 annually

What's the timeline for installation after getting rebate approval?

For existing homes, you have 120 days to complete the installation after receiving your QR code. For homes under construction, this extends to 240 days.
